Barbara Pelizzon’s Memories dig into the archeology of imagery. The elements are masterfully brought alongside each others according to an elegant compositional logic. The content is coming from magazines the artist modifies throughout many technical stages, bringing the charm of photography together with a reflection on today’s papers divulgation of information, perhaps nothing else but tomorrow’s ordinary past events. This type of procedure triggers a narrative of recurrencies. Debris of a no longer existing past, harbingers of a possible future. Glass fiber and silicone cage the images, temporarily excluding them from history’s space-time flux. We see them under a brand new light unravelling the deceitful nature of memory.
